Touch surfaces

The Touch tab hosts four built-in playable surfaces plus any custom layouts you create. Switch between them using the chips at the top of the screen.

Pads

A 4×4 grid of 16 pads — the most common MIDI controller format.

Each pad plays a chromatic note by default (C1, C#1, D1, … D#2).
Tap to play; the pad fills with color based on pressure.
Oct − / + at the top shifts the whole grid up or down an octave.
Multi-touch — play up to 10 pads at once.
MPE switch at the top enables polyphonic aftertouch: slide your finger within a pad and the pressure value is sent per-note. See the MPE guide.

Keys

A vertical piano keyboard, oriented for portrait use.

Oct − / + shifts the starting octave (default C2).
Range − / + changes how many octaves are visible (0.5 to 5 octaves in half-octave steps).
Black and white keys both trigger notes directly.
MPE-capable — enables pitch bend on slide, aftertouch on pressure.

XY

A single large square touchpad that sends two continuous CCs at once.

Horizontal position → CC 1 (modulation) by default.
Vertical position → CC 2 by default.
Live (X, Y) readout shows current values.
Great for filter sweeps, formant shifting, effect X/Y controls.

Faders

An 8-channel fader bank sending CC 1 through CC 8.

Tap anywhere in a column to jump the fader to that position.
Drag to sweep.
The numeric CC value (0–127) and label show at the bottom of each fader.

Saving a surface configuration

Any changes you make (octave, range, MPE state, template choice) can be saved as a preset so you can restore the full setup with one tap. See Presets.
